Financial freedom is a trap if you skip the other nine steps

I had all the freedom and none of the things that matter. Why money without the rest just buys a nicer place to be lost.

I had financial freedom and I was lost. That's the part nobody puts on the vision board.

Money without sobriety, without hobbies, without people, without a clear head, isn't freedom — it just removes the excuses. You wanted to escape the job; now there's no job and you're still you, with more time to notice it.

That's why freedom sits at Step Nine, not Step One. It only means something once the eight things under it are real. Chase it first and all you buy is a nicer place to be lost in.
